NZETC
New It Make Episode 30 - New Zealand Electronic Text Centre
Interview with Stuart Yeats, a graduate of the University of Waikato, and the Lead Architect for NZETC. Stuart tells me about what the NZETC does, about some of their collection, and how they choose items to be digitized. He mentions that NZETC is not the idea place to learn about the history of New Zealand, but it is the idea place to learn about the history of what has been published in New Zealand. Their archive contains digital artifacts from New Zealand's past and present. He mentions they use the tei http://www.tei-c.org/index.xml xml format and talks a bit about the process of digitizing work. We talk about different ways of accessing the material, and ways it can be used. He mentions the digitalnz project, which will be the topic of next weeks episode.
I'd like to thank Gravity Computing for sponsoring this episode.
